Research Statement
I believe the future of mobile computing and personal healthcare could become intimately tied in to one another. This is facilitated by the fact that Smartphone platforms are continuously evolving, extending their coverage in the healthcare space. This is where my research interests lie; the evolution of technology-assisted platforms for proactive and reactive medical purposes.
Throughout my PhD degree program, I was deeply focused on the underlying communication and security technologies for wireless systems, which complemented my four years of work experience at BlackBerry in the Mobile Health (mHealth) domain. My research portfolio resulted in successfully initiating, directing, and monitoring a number of mHealth-related projects, such as the Artificial Pancreas Project, which was a mega-project, a joint-venture between BlackBerry, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), Medtronic, University Health Network (UHN), and other involved organizations and individuals.
